Shrimp and Vegetable Gyoza Pad Thai

List of ingredients

Starter: Vegetable Gyozas (for a dozen)

  • 200g flour
  • 100mL of water
  • 1 onion
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 leek
  • 1 carrot
  • 50ml soy sauce
  • Sesame oil
  • Salt pepper

Dish: Pad Thai with prawns and butternut (for 2 people)

  • 130g rice noodles
  • 1/2 butternut squash
  • 1 onion
  • 2 eggs
  • 80g bean or soy sprouts
  • 100g shelled prawns
  • 30g roasted peanuts
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 cases of nuoc mam
  • 1 tbsp cane sugar
  • 1 lime
  • Coriander
  • Sesame oil

Preparation

For the vegetable gyozas:

In a bowl, add the flour and water. Mix and knead by hand. Form a ball and let sit for an hour.

Peel and wash the carrot. Cut it into very small dice.
Peel and cut the onions into small dice.
Remove the ends of the leek as well as the first leaf, wash it then cut it once in the middle, lengthwise, then into slices.

Heat a drizzle of oil in a pan and add the vegetables. Season with salt and pepper and cook for 10 minutes.
Add the soy sauce then continue cooking for 10 to 15 minutes, the vegetables should be tender.

After 1 hour of rest, take small balls of dough and flatten them into circles. Add the vegetables in the middle and fold them in half. Seal the edges with a fork.
Oil a frying pan and cook them in a frying pan for 3-4 minutes per side. Add your hot gyozas to the compartment of your Qwetch Meal Box.

For the prawn and butternut pad thai recipe

Cook noodles in a large pot of water according to package directions.

Peel and finely chop the onion. Peel the squash and cut it into cubes.
Brown the onion for a few minutes in a drizzle of oil, in a wok or in a large, wide-sided pan.
Then add the pieces of squash with a little water, the soy sauce, the nuoc mam sauce, the cane sugar and the lemon juice.

When the vegetables are cooked, add the noodles, prawns, bean sprouts, eggs and mix.
Cook for a few more minutes while stirring.
Add the peanuts and a little chopped coriander. Mix and serve piping hot in your Qwetch Meal Box.
