Child water bottle
Very active from morning to night, children need to drink regularly to stay perfectly hydrated. Ecological, economical and durable, the water bottle for children accompanies them all day, whether at school, during their leisure activities or during school outings. How to choose it?
###
Why buy a children's water bottle?
It's never too early to introduce your children to environmental issues and good ecological practices. The children's water bottle, in addition to its practical aspect, is respectful of the planet and helps to fight against plastic pollution.
Reusable and durable, it advantageously replaces the disposable plastic bottles that have long accompanied children during their school outings or sports activities. The children's water bottle also saves money: its lifespan is several years, and its purchase price will therefore quickly pay for itself.
Water bottles for children are designed for on-the-go use, and are therefore perfectly suited to the lifestyle of little ones, who spend their days between school, cultural and sports activities, the park and home. Adapted to small hands, fitted with leak-proof caps, they are ergonomic and allow the child to drink independently.
In addition, children's water bottles today are particularly aesthetically appealing. Adorned with bright colors and original patterns, they encourage the youngest to drink more often and to distinguish their water bottle from those of their little friends.
How to choose a children's water bottle?
The material
Different criteria must be taken into account to make the right choice, starting with the material of manufacture. There are children's water bottles in stainless steel, glass, aluminum or even reusable plastic.
Stainless steel children's water bottles have many advantages: they are resistant to shocks and corrosion, are sometimes insulated when they have a double wall, and are perfectly healthy. Whatever drink is transported, no chemical substance is likely to migrate from the bottle to the liquids.
Glass models are not ideal for children, due to their weight and their fragility in case of a fall. Very aesthetic, ecological and healthy, glass water bottles are more suitable for adults.
Aluminum children's water bottles have long been decried because of their composition. Unlike stainless steel water bottles , they require an interior coating to avoid direct contact with drinks.
While these coatings have not always been healthy, there are many quality aluminum water bottles available today whose coatings are free of bisphenol A and other potentially harmful substances.
In addition, aluminum children's water bottles have a significant advantage: they are very light, even more so than stainless steel models, all the more so when the latter are made of double-walled insulated stainless steel.
There are also children's water bottles made of reusable plastic, BPA-free. They have the advantage of being light and cheaper to buy than other materials, but their lifespan is shorter. It also happens that the plastic alters the taste of the water.
Cap
The shape of the cap is a very important criterion when choosing a water bottle for children. Indeed, your child will not have the same needs depending on whether he is 3 years old, 5 years old or 12 years old.
For older children, sports caps are a good solution. They prevent leaks and allow the child to drink while on the move.
The capacity
For the little ones, there is no need to choose a children's bottle with too large a capacity, which would complicate its handling. A capacity of around 25 to 30 cl will be perfectly adequate.
For children over 3 years old, opt for a water bottle with a capacity of 35 to 50 cl, while older children can be equipped with a larger model if necessary. A child's water bottle with a capacity of 1 liter has the advantage of not having to be filled frequently, but can prove to be heavy in a satchel already loaded with books.
Ergonomics
Several details will improve the ergonomics of a water bottle for children, which must imperatively be able to be handled by the little ones in complete autonomy.
For the youngest, handles will make it easier to grip. On models intended for older children, the presence of a wrist strap is an advantage and reduces the risk of falling.
