GREEN FRIDAY: QWETCH IS FIGHTING FOR A GREENER WORLD!

| Zero waste

How about replacing the famous Black Friday with Green Friday?

Faced with the delusional consumerism of Black Friday – which generates immeasurable environmental and social costs – initiatives are multiplying to raise public awareness about their consumption patterns. This is the case of Green Friday, the anti Black Friday movement.

GREEN FRIDAY, AN ECO-CITIZEN COLLECTIVE CAMPAIGNING FOR RESPONSIBLE CONSUMPTION

GREEN FRIDAY, AN ECO-CITIZEN COLLECTIVE CAMPAIGNING FOR RESPONSIBLE CONSUMPTION

“Green Friday is the anti Black Friday movement. This is our way of saying stop to excessive and irrational production.”

From being a simple consumer to an actor of your consumerism, the transition is easy: this is the message that Green Friday wants to convey. In December 2017, this association (created by Altermundi) decided to establish a citizen event that would eliminate all Black Friday offers. Instead of discounts, companies and brands would donate part of that day’s turnover. This initiative, committed against mass consumerism, has managed to seduce many other actors and has now considerably grown. In 2019, 400 entities were fighting for a more reasoned consumption.

For this fifth edition, Qwetch is joining this association to show, once again, its commitment to the planet and its fight against waste.

On Friday the 25th of November, the member companies of the collective have committed to not offering any discounts to their customers. They have also pledged to donate 10 % of that day’s turnover to benefit committed associations, selected by the collective. Qwetch has chosen to support Zero Waste France, an association that defends the zero waste approach through various actions and awareness campaigns.

On the 25th of November, 10 % of sales made on Qwetch’s website will be donated to Zero Waste France to support their zero waste awareness campaigns.

QWETCH X ZERO WASTE FRANCE

QWETCH X ZERO WASTE FRANCE

Zero Waste France is an independent citizen-based association working with various entities: citizens, elected officials, professionals, companies. It carries out many awareness campaigns and have a whole bunch of tools and resources (guides, practical sheets, monthly newsletters, etc.) to help everyone implement a zero waste approach in different contexts (at school, in the office, etc.).

Their missions:

  • Producing differently by changing methods towards a minimal and efficient use of natural resources and energy, allowing to reduce the use of raw materials.
  • Optimising and extending a product’s use by reusing, sharing, and pooling access to goods. Reusable packaging and distribution methods (returnable containers, bulk sales, etc.) are preferred over disposable systems.
  • Preserving material by boosting the benefits of composting and recycling – both essential steps to add value to materials. In homes and businesses, all waste must be thoroughly sorted to reduce the need for incineration and landfills.

We are in this together, fighting for a greener world!
