Since the 1st of October 2021, Qwetch has increased the prices of some of its products. This is due to a significant increase in transport prices and products’ cost price. More specifically, the increase in costs is linked to both the congestion of some seaports blocked by COVID-19 for over two years now and to the scarcity of raw materials (stainless steel, copper, etc.) as well as cardboard packaging. According to the Data and Statistical Studies of the French Ministry of Ecological Transition published in June 2021, in the first quarter of 2021, freight and warehousing transport prices increased in all sectors. Maritime transport prices recorded the highest increase (+16.1%) – this is precisely the means of transport used by Qwetch to transport its products. This situation not only impacts Qwetch but also the vast majority of manufacturers.
